Problem conclusion
Implementation and customization: 1. Implementation now requires mandatory working directories to be defined as part of the customization. 2. Setup script now automatically creates a working directory for storing policy files. Configuration Tool: 1. Added validation on fields. This includes checks for uniqueness of certain fields. 2. More diagnostics and error messages are now displayed when the Configuration Tool fails startup. 3. The Configuration Tool will now still initialize even if one or more policies are corrupted and fail to load. 4. Policies requiring migration now has an icon to indicate the need for migration. 5. Better search algorithm for finding data streams. 6. Discovery interval and timezone fields are no longer set to their defaults upon adding streams, and are instead left out of the generated .properties file. 7. New protocols have been added and these also support SSL encryptions. Data Streamer: 1. Improved validation and checking when the Data Streamer is started and more diagnostics messages with timestamps are displayed. 2. The Data Streamer will now check for the correct policy file version. 3. If the data streamer loose contact with a subscriber it will buffer data to disk and send it on to the subscriber when communication is re-established. The maximum length of time that this data will be buffered for can be configured on a per subscriber basis. Note that the maximum amount of buffered data is limited by the space on the ZFS file system the buffered data is written to. 4. Multiple subscribers to the same stream using different protocols are now sent the correct log records. 5. Log records containing international characters are no longer rejected by Logstash subscribers. 6. The Data Streamer has been enhanced to support protocols with SSL encryption. Data Receiver: 1. Data Receiver now implemented as a separate subscriber for future analytic protocols.
