APAR status

Error description

  • Stage II processing at an RTEMS with a large number of
    situations and accesslist entries can result in high cpu usage
    for an extended period of time.
    
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    Establish an RTEMS that will have 2,800 nodes (only a handful
    need to be attached to the RTEMS), 8,000 situations, and 44,000
    accesslist entries.
    Start the RTEMS. Cause it to reconnect to the HUB. Watch the
    stage II processing time and cpu usage.
    

Local fix

  • Reduce the number of situations and accesslist entries as much
    as possible.

    result in high CPU usage for an extended period of time.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Stage II performance was improved by adding partial key
    binary search, thereby resolving protracted high CPU usage
    during Stage II processing.
