Error description

  • Notes user received the message containing attachment file,
winmail.dat. This message was sent from Outlook user with
Microsoft Rich Text Format (RTF) over the Internet. This
    format called as TNEF stream.
Winmail.dat can be converted with TNEFEnableConversion=1 that
is available in Domino release 6.5.6, 7.0.2, 8.0 and later
    releases.

.Msg file disappears after TNEF conversion with 9.0.1, 9.0.1FP1
    and 9.0.1FP2.
File Extension of .msg disappears after TNEF conversion with
9.0.1FP3 and later FixPacks and also 902_04172016.

The problem that . msg itself disappears is reported as
    SPR#MYAA89LA9M.
This SPR is created to report File Extension of .msg disappears
with 9.0.1FP3 and later releases. Notes user cannot open the
file because file extension is missing and has no idea with
what application it will be created.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Start Outlook.
    2. Create a new Email.
    3. Make sure you format the message as Rich Text and change
text colors or Page color in order to send Microsoft Rich Text
    Format.
    4. Attach an File whose file extension is *.msg.
    5. Send it to Domino 9.0.1FP3 or later releases enabled
    TNEFEnableConversion=1.

You can easily reproduce this using MIME source and using
    telnet.

    1. Open st888369.TMP attached in this SPR. This is MIME source
of TNEF data which include 'Office 2013 Invitation.msg' and
    'Office2013.xls' attachments.
    2. Send the MIME source to your Domino server enabled
TNEFEnableConversion=1 via SMTP using telnet client.
    3. You will see 2 attachments; one is 'Office 2013 Invitation'
and the other is 'Office2013.xls'. .msg is missing.

    NOTE:
International MIME Settings for this document: Enabled
    Primary character set group: Japanese
Format preference of incoming mail of test user is "Keep in
