Error description
Users are required to open not only one mail file from Notes client, many users need open some public mail files frequently. After using some time, notes client new mail notification does not work any more. Check the Notes.ini parameter, will find that there are multiple NewMailSeqNum<repID> entries recorded. such as below: NewMailSeqNum=40086 NewMailSeqNum48256FB3:0023A6DB=42867 Notice they do not match. This is why the new mail not refresh. Based on technote # 1114135, this may be caused by accessing more than one mail file. User want to know why this issue happen and how to avoid this problem when one user opens multiple mail files from one client.
Local fix
Reset the value of the newmailseqnum in the notes.ini and restart notes
