APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Install Notes Browser Plug-in stand-alone, whichever you want
NotesPluginMin or NotesPluginMax.
Once the installation is done, it will create a desktop icon
"IBM Notes Browser Plug-in".
Double-click the icon to launch the Notes Browser Plug-in.
You see the following error message.

Problem with Shortcut-
The target "" of this Internet Shortcut is not valid. Go to the
Internet Shortcut property sheet and make sure the target is
correct.
A desktop icon "IBM Notes Browser Plug-in" does not have a
proper URL.

Start Internet Explorer or Firefox and input "notes:home" as
URL, IBM Notes Browser Plug-in Configuration starts.
That means IBM Notes Browser Plug-in add-on is installed
correctly.

This is only a desktop shortcut icon problem.
The target is not set in the "IBM Notes Browser Plug-in"
shortcut icon.

Local fix

  • Create "notes:home" shortcut on your own.
