Error description
After installing Lotus Notes 8.5.3 Swedish (IBM Lotus Notes Client V8.5.3 for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 Swedish (CI58GSV)) as Multi-User and Single-User the client setup and the Lotus Notes client runs in English instead of Swedish language. Issue was reprodusible The Notes.ini under 'All Users' profile seems to be correct and contains 'UserInterface=sv': [Notes] KitType=1 SharedDataDirectory=C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Anwendungsdaten\Lotus\Notes\Data\Shared UserInterface=sv InstallType=6 InstallMode=1 NotesProgram=C:\Programme\IBM\Lotus\Notes\ But every new created notes.ini for the users do not contain 'UserInterface=sv'. The same occurs also in a Single-User installation. The MUI directory was created correctly in the Notes directory, and also the subfolder 'sv'. But the file 'MUI.DAT' would be never created.
Local fix
Create manually the file 'MUI.DAT' including: [Versions] CoreVersion=Release 8.5.3 CoreLanguage=sv NotesWorkswith=Release 8.5.3 [MUI] Languages=1 Language1=sv
