Error description
Users can encounter the following error when opening Microsoft Excel attachments in iNotes on Windows 7 machines (double clicking the attachment in the email pane of iNotes) "There was a problem sending the command to the program" Environment: Client OS: Windows 7 (Traditional Chinese) Client browser: IE 8.0.7600.16385 Client Application: MS Excel Starter 2010 (Traditional Chinese). It's reproducible in my test environment. Both custimer and I have tried Technote 1447462 with the following finding: 1. MS Word file can be launched successfully 2. MS Excel file cannot be launched. Error message was pop-up as reported previously. I've checked that the compatibility setting was already unchecked. I've tried to add my site to trusted site in IE8, while the error still occurs. Title: Error opening Microsoft Office attachments in iNotes on Windows 7 Doc #: 1447462 URL: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&uid=swg21447462 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. User login to iNotes 2. User enables preview in Inbox folder 3. User is able to launch and save attachment via preview pane 4. User double-click the email. The email is opened in another tab. 5. User clicks the new tab. Attachments are displayed in "IBM Lotus Control" ActiveX control. 6. If user tries to open the attachment, the attachment cannot be launched, and the corresponding software (e.g. MS Excel) will prompt for error message (e.g. Excel will prompt for "There was a problem sending the command to the program").
