APAR status

Error description

  • The Update Blocker Documents agent in the resource database is
    not
    updating the StartDate in the reservation blocker documents when
    run on schedule.
    
    This has manager attention.  They would like to know why this
    agent does not run at 3am.
    It fails on only one server.  It will run between 7am and 11pm
    ok.

    <STEPS>
    
    
    
    1. Create new RRDB, new site, new room
    
       Verify all agents are enabled, and signer has access to run
    agents on the server
    2. Change Room setting to prevent booking more than 30 days in
    
       the future
    
    3. Check the blocker document in the $reservationblocker view
    
       it should have a StartDate of today + 30days
    
       it should have an EndDate of 12/31/999
    
    4. Let agent run over night
    
       the StartDate should be moved ahead one day
    
    
    
    <THEORIES>
    
    
    
    -  Something is preventing the agent from running correctly
    between 11pm and 3am?
    
    
    
    <TROUBLESHOOTING>
    
    
    
    - I could not recreate the issue with the customer's resource
    database
      on my test domino 702fp3 server
    
    
    
    - Related issue?  When a new reservation document is created it
    has
      has RQstatus = "T", after 7 minutes it is changed to "R" not
    "A".
      There are no existing reservations for this room to cause
    
      this reservation to be Rejected.
    
    
    
    - The agent will run correctly if you change the time of the
    schedule
      from 3am (default ) to anything between 7am to 11pm
    
    
    
    - The agent will run correctly if you run it manually
    
    
    
    - The customer logs did not show an Amgr error at 3am
    
    
    
    - The agent fails on only one server.
    
      The customer has several RRDBs and the agents runs correctly
    on them.
    
    
    - If you move another working RRDB from another server to this
    server it
      fails.
    
    
    
    - It fails if you create new clean RRDB on this server
    
    - No other agents fail on this server
    
    - The agent is signed by the same user id on all servers
    
    - All servers give this user the same access to run agents on
    the server
    - The agent is enabled
    
    - The agent has not been modified
    
    
    
    - Attempted to debug customer's Blocker agent by adding print
    statements
      no errors found
    
    
    
    - I have reviewed issue with our TL - there are no other tests
    or
      debugging tools we have available
    
    - What is running on the server during the time the agent will
    not run - 11pm and 4am?
    
    
    
    No there are no extra tasks.
    
    
    
    - Are there other Domino tasks running at that time?   Any
    Program
    documents that start just before 3am?
    
    
    
    No, Updall runs at 1 AM and compact starts on  mail file only at
    3 AM.
    
    
    - Any third party software?  backup software?
    
    
    
    Yes backup software runs in night, We have also stopped the
    backup
    software but it did not help.
    
    
    
    -  Run Microsoft utility filemon one night
    
      - does anything access this file over night?
    
      - I reviewed the filemon logs
    
    
    
      - nreplica runs on resource.nsf
    
      - an agent runs at 12:14am
