Error description
1. login to v2018 apim GUI select Develop APIs and Products 2. In Develop screen, select Add -> API -> New OpenAPI Click Next Input Title and Click Next 3. In Secure screen, Click Next 4. In Summary screen, Click Edit API 5. It goes API Setup in left menu, scroll down to Parameters and click Add check REQUIRED, input Name: para1, Select LOCATED IN: header, Select TYPE: string, scroll down to the bottom and select Save -> "API has been updated" 6. In left menu, select Paths In Paths, click Add, it goes to Path screen In Path screen, input Path name In Path Parameters, click Add It shows only one line: REQUIRED NAME LOCATED_IN TYPE DESCRIPTION DELETE line There is no way to add the user's defined parameter that we created in step 5.
Local fix
the workaround is to create another required parameter for the path "/world" and save it. If you go back to the path edit page, you should see the global path param defined (para1 in this case) along with the newly defined parameter. You can delete the newly created parameter and save and will be able to see `para1` parameter in future edits.
Problem summary
Users cannot add user parameter as a path parameter.
Problem conclusion
The fix is delivered in 2018.4.1.16 and v10.0.2.0 / v10.0.1.3.
