APAR status

Error description

  • IDR Oracle can fail with java.lang.NullPointerException when
creating read-only instance with Kerberos authentication

Local fix

  • The workaround is NOT to use read-only option

Problem summary

* This issue might affect you if you have configured a CDC     *
* Oracle (redolog edition) engine to use Kerberos, and you are *
* using IDR 11.4.0.4-5602 or older.                            *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
* CDC is unable to save the settings for a new instance.       *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
* Upgrade to IDR 11.4.0.4-5603 or newer for Oracle.            *
****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Upgrading to IDR 11.4.0.4-5603 or newer for Oracle resolves the
issue.
