APAR status

Error description

  • ICP4BA includes a version of NGINX that is vulnerable to
CVE-2021-23017. This version of NGINX is included in the
pfs-nginx-prod docker image, that gets deployed when all the
following conditions applies:

- IBM Business Automation Workflow containers are installed as
part of ICP4BA on a non Openshift Kubernetes platform
- As part of this deployment, IBM Process Federation Server is
setup to install its own Elasticsearch cluster rather than using
one provided by the customer

Local fix

  • In the ICP4BA Custom Resource, setup Process Federation Server
to use an externaly provided Elasticsearch cluster rather than
deploying its own.
