Error description
If the number of Kafka writer threads is less than the number of table mappings, then a timing condition can occur that causes all writer threads to stop prematurely. This prevents a subscription from shutting down as the apply thread is still waiting for pending tasks. The number of Kafka writer threads could be determined by analyzing IDR instance traces: The Kafka writer uses "X" threads for publishing.
Local fix
Use shutdown immediate instead of shutdown normal.
