APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When you migrate instances by using the migrateWithContextTo
Javascript API or migrateWithPolicyTo Javascript API, lock
timeouts occur, such as in the following example:

CWLLG2229E:
PreparedStatementCallback; SQL [SELECT BPD_INSTANCE_ID FROM
LSW_BPD_INSTANCE WITH (ROWLOCK,UPDLOCK) WHERE BPD_INSTANCE_ID =
?]; Lock request time out period exceeded.; nested exception is
com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Lock request
time out period exceeded.

Local fix

  • Do not run Javascript instance migration commands from within
the instance being migrated. Instead, use an admin service or
other process to run the Javascript.

Problem summary

  • This issue occurs only when the Javascript runs from within the
instance being migrated.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available or will be available that prevents lock
timeouts by detecting if the Javascript is running from within
the instance being migrated.
