Error description

  • When the IBM Business Automation Studio database is reused for
several IBM Cloud Pak components, the installation fails during
the database setup and you see an error similar to the following
error in the pod logs and the database configuration logs:

SEVERE: CWLPS1105: An error occurred while call the db
    initialize: DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-204, SQLSTATE=42704,
    SQLERRMC=BASTUDIO.LSW_SYSTEM_SCHEMA, DRIVER=4.25.13.

The documentation doesn't indicate that you can't use the same
database and database user for IBM Business Automation Workflow
and Workstream Services, or for other components, such as
    Business Automation Studio.

    PRODUCTS AFFECTED
    IBM Cloud Pak for Automation

Local fix

  • Added a "Restriction" near the top of the page for BAW,
Studio, and App Engine. This change can ensure that users use
separate database for 20.0.2. And for 20.0.3 and later, users
can use a separate database or shared database with different
    user.

Problem summary

  • The documentation need indicate that you can't use the same
database and database user for IBM Business Automation Workflow
and Workstream Services, or for other components, such as
    Business Automation Studio.
