JR62554: AN EMPTY VALUE REPLICATED FROM A NON-ORA SOURCE DB TO AN ORA TARGET DB BLOB COL IS INSERTED AS A SINGLE BYTE ZERO

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Replicating an empty value from a non-Oracle source database
  into an Oracle target database BLOB column used to insert the
  empty value as single byte with the value 0. This was done to
  prevent Oracle converting the empty value to null, but for the
  BLOB datatype Oracle inserts an empty value as an empty value.
  Now CDC will insert the empty value as an empty value.
