  • CDC target can leak Oracle sessions.

Local fix

  • Restart CDC target instance.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED:                                              *
* This issue affects clients using CDC for Oracle as a target  *
* engine.                                                      *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
* The problem occurs when CDC starts an Oracle session         *
* (connection) to issue a query. Occasionally, the connection  *
* was not correctly tracked, and then it was not closed when   *
* the session completed.                                       *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
* Upgrade to IDR LUW 11.4.0.2-5528 for Oracle or newer.        *
****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Upgrading to IDR LUW 11.4.0.2-5528 for Oracle resolves the
issue.
