JR61440: CDC THROWS NPE WHEN THE RETURN TYPE OF THE STORED PROCEDURE IS USED IN DATE/TIMESTAMP, AND THE VALUE RETURN IS NULL

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the return type of the stored procedure is used in
  DATE/TIMESTAMP, and the value return is NULL, CDC throws NPE.
  

Local fix

• Do NOT return NULL in the SP, as a DATE/TIMESTAMP type of
  return value of NULL is what triggers the NPE
