APAR status

Error description

  • BW Extract job in version 433 is failing with error message
"SAP_BW_Open_Hub_Extract_Stage_0,0: Fatal Error: Fatal: ERROR:
Timeout while waiting for the BW to start loading after process
chain starts.
SAP Codepage 4103 does not match the application code 4102"
The issue is noticed on Datastage platforms Unicode Big Endian
(e.g. AIX, Solaris, zLinux) and is a regression compared with
previous version 4323. It is not observed on Unicode Little
endian (e.g. Windows, Linux x64).

Workaround: set the Engine tier environment variable
ASC_BWOHEXTRACT_LITTLE_ENDIAN=0

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

  • Code fix: corrected the LE/BE logic related to environment
variable ASC_BWOHEXTRACT_LITTLE_ENDIAN. Will also update the
relevant technote to indicate this variable refers to the
Datastage platform, not SAP -

We plan to remove this variable in vNext and implement all
automatic platform detection.
Fix available as a patch for version 4330 and included in 4331.
