Error description
If you use Oracle as the IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) database and you run the BPMDeleteDurableMessages command to delete durable subscription messages that are older than 99 days, you receive the following database exception: ORA-01873: the leading precision of the interval is too small PRODUCTS AFFECTED IBM BPM Advanced IBM BPM Standard IBM BPM Express
Local fix
Problem summary
The Oracle database query to delete durable subscription messages uses the interval literal operator to select messages for deletion. However, the query does not specify a value for the interval parameter of the operator. Because the precision of the interval literal operator defaults to 2, you receive the ORA-01873 exception when you use a value for the olderThan parameter of the BPMDeleteDurableMessages command that is more than 2 digits.
Problem conclusion
A fix will be available in IBM BPM V8.5.7 cumulative fix 2017.03 that adjusts the database query to use the correct interval precision.
