Error description
In Management Center, if you try to generate SKUs for a new product before you save any product changes, an error is displayed in the Management Center console and SKUs are not generated. After you save the product, SKU generation will not work for any products and there are no errors to indicate that SKUs were not generated. The issue is caused by an unhandled Null Pointer Exception.

Restart Management Center.

USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Commerce Version 7 users who generate SKUs within Management Center. PROBLEM ABSTRACT: Cannot generate SKUs for products with unsaved attributes BUSINESS IMPACT: Business users are no longer able to generate SKUs in Management Center until the user logs out and the browser is restarted.
