APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
A trusted session leak can cause Information Server to stop working. The external symptoms can include: - DataStage Designer "View Data" and "Test Connection" fails because the ASBAgent on the engine tier is unable to log into the services tier. - Unable to log into Information Governance Catalog You can confirm this is the problem cause of the problem by looking in the IBM WebSphere Application Server SystemOut.log for the error message "com.ibm.iis.isf.security.SessionLimitExceededException: The maximum number of sessions has been reached." You can fix the cause of the leak by applying the fix as per the RECOMMENDATION below. In some cases, the exceeded sessions can prevent the patch process. Before applying the patch, you can temporarily increas the number of sessions. On the IBM InfoSphere Information Server services tier, run these command from the <Information Server install path>/ASBServer/bin: > ./iisAdmin.sh -display -key com.ibm.iis.isf.security.TrustedSessionTokenCacheMaxCapacity This command will return the maximum number of trusted sessions. The default is 1000. Change the maximum number with the command: > ./iisAdmin.sh -set -key com.ibm.iis.isf.security.TrustedSessionTokenCacheMaxCapacity -value 1100 where 1100 is your maximum number of session + 100. Restart WebSphere. Install the patches. After the patches have been installed, you can reset the max capacity to the original value.
