Error description
When a shopper submits an incorrect store URL, for example, http://<host>/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/aurora, the response might display a "Generic error - command not found" page. However, the return code is of a "200 OK" status, instead of an error status, for example, "400 Bad Request".
Local fix
Problem summary
USERS AFFECTED: This causes minimal impact to shoppers, since they will be redirected to the correct pages and will not see the error status. PROBLEM ABSTRACT: An incorrect store URL returns an error page showing a 200 OK status. BUSINESS IMPACT: This improper return status could impact the implementation of correct JSP caching. RECOMMENDATION:
Problem conclusion
The generic application error JSP that is responsible for generating the error message has been updated to set the return code to the desired status code. When the cause of the exception is of type "ECApplicationException", the return code will be set to "400". Otherwise, the return code will be set to "500".
