APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • BAPI Stage can not handle empty numeric values. The runtime
ignores the value and skips the record with the following
message:
BAPI_Stage_0,0: Unable to set output decimal field value from
argument string '     ' in  function setOutputFieldAsDecimal()
for field '61' in output dataset '0'.

Problem summary

  • BAPI Stage can not handle empty numeric values. The runtime
ignores the value and skips the record with the following
message:
BAPI_Stage_0,0: Unable to set output decimal field value from
argument string '     ' in  function setOutputFieldAsDecimal()
for field '61' in output dataset '0'.

Problem conclusion

  • Code fix, empty numeric values are handled as NULL values now.
Fix propagated to 65 maint and 70 maint; already included in 71
GA.
