Error description
After an installation of V8.5.0.0 with an immediate upgrade to V8.5.0.1, a process application deployment fails, with the following exception: CWLLG2229E: An exception occurred in an EJB call. Error: com.lombardisoftware.client.delegate.BusinessDelegateException: Snapshot.9b0bdb20-6dd1-4357-945a-4cdf0cbd021e com.lombardisoftware.client.delegate.BusinessDelegateException: com.lombardisoftware.client.delegate.BusinessDelegateException: This issue also affects creation of process application snapshots. When a user tries to create a snapshot, the default snapshot creation governance process is not found, resulting in an error dialog box containing the following information: ᄁ¬ツᆲ モcom.lombardisoftware.client.delegate.BusinessDelegateExce Snapshot.9b0bdb20-6dd1-4357-945a-4cdf0cbd021 ᄁ¬ツᆲ .

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM BPM Advanced, Standard, and Express * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Process application snapshot creation * * and deployment fails following an * * installation of v8.5.0.0 with an * * immediate upgrade to V8.5.0.1. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** On IBM BPM V8501, the default governance snapshot ID is pointing to the 8.5.0 snapshot, but the 8.5.0 snapshot is missing. This occurs only if V8.5.0.0 and V8.5.0.1 are installed together through a scripted silent install or a custom install using IBM Installation Manager, and the user does not perform V8.5.0.0 configuration using either BPMConfig or the database configuration command (bootstrapProcessServerData) before installing V8.5.0.1. The result is that the 8.5.0 governance toolkit snapshot is not installed, but the default governance snapshot ID points to it. If the user has not overridden the default installation governance process, then a process application deployment failure occurs. If the customer has not overridden the default snapshot creation governance process, then a snapshot creation error dialog will appear.
Problem conclusion
The issue is resolved by applying a fix, before doing the install, that will cause a governance toolkit snapshot ID to be generated for the 8.5.0.1 value rather than the 8.5.0 value. The fix can also be applied afterwards if an 8.5.0.1 update has already been done before the fix was available. FIX AVAILABILITY: This fix is available at Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral). To get the fix, search at that location for JR49327. Then do the following steps: 1. Select the product group, product, installed version, and platform, and click Continue. 2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR49327, and click Continue. When downloading fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix.
Temporary fix
Yes, but IBM does not recommend that users manually edit the database. The workaround is to manually update the BPM_GOVERNANCE_EVENT table to refer to the 8.5.0.1 snapshot id: 5c679113-27ac-4bb8-bc83-36a0909c38e6.
