Error description
In Process Portal, there are two issues related to the configuration and behavior of the "preferred language" setting in the user profile: 1) If no preferred language is configured in the user profile (via the Process Admin Console or via Process Portal itself), the default language should be the browser language; however, the tabs at the top are displayed in English regardless of the browser language when no preferred language is configured. 2) When a user saves a preferred language via the User Profile dialog in Process Portal for the first time, the language is not saved, even though it looks like it was saved (when viewing the User Profile dialog again later). In reality, the browser language is displayed. (To actually save the preferred language, the user needs to change the selection to a different language and save, then change back to their preferred language and save again.)
Local fix
Use one of the following workarounds: 1) Set a language preference for the user in the Process Admin Console. 2) Change the Portal Preference language to a different language than the desired language and click Save, then refresh the browser or log out and log back in. Change the Portal Preference language to the desired language and click Save. (From this point forward the tabs will be displayed in the Portal Preference language, each time the language is changed.)
