Error description
In Information Server 8.1 on Solaris a job using a DRS stage utilizing DataDirect ODBC SQL Server drivers fails with "Invalid time format". This job worked on previous DataStage 7.5.2.
Local fix
Use SQL type Varchar instead of Timestamp in DataStage columns grid.

Problem conclusion
Resolution was to add a compiler flag for Data Direct drivers when building for Solaris.
