IZ98655: TNPFA VERSION REQUIRED BY NETFLOW SENSOR

APAR status

• Closed as documentation error.

Error description

• The Sensor documentation does not make clear which version of
  Tivoli Netcool Performance Flow Analyzer (TNPFA) is compatible
  with and required by the NetFlow sensor.
  
  The documentation should state:
  - NetFlowSensor requires the installation of TNPFA provided with
  TADDM.
  - Non-TADDM provided TNPFA are not supported.
  - TNPFA version provided with TADDM is "IBM Tivoli Netcool
  Performance Flow Analyzer V4.1.0 ".
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The NetFlow sensor is only compatible with the Tivoli Netcool
  Performance Flow Analyzer (TNPFA) server provided on the TADDM
  install media.  Other versions of TNPFA will not work with
  TADDM.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Install Guide section titled, "Installing the Tivoli Netcool
  Performance Flow Analyzer server" has been modified as follows:
  
  To use the NetFlow sensor, you must install the Tivoli Netcool
  Performance Flow Analyzer server that is shipped with TADDM
  because that version contains the configuration that is required
  by the NetFlow sensor. Note that the Tivoli Netcool
  Performance Flow Analyzer Version 4.1 package that is shipped
  with TADDM is not the full product version of Tivoli Netcool
  Performance Flow Analyzer.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  package:
