Error description

  • Obtain Cisco Serial number from the OID in the CISCO-STACK-MIB;


chassisSerialNumberString: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.2.19

Local fix

  • populate the correct MIB on the switch

Problem summary

  • When discovering Cisco devices via SNMP, the Serial Number from
the CISCO-STACK-MIB will be used to populate the serial number
of the device. This was done following feedback from cisco that
this should be the primary source of the serial number.

  • The fix for this APAR is contained in the following
maintenance packages:
