Error description
Communications Server for AIX, Version 6 ---------------------------------------- The Administration Command Reference describes duplex options for SDLC links, but those options are not available. The snaadmin configuration tool allows those options to be used.
Local fix
Problem summary
The AIX GDLC driver does not support Full Duplex on SDLC links. CSAIX ignores the SDLC parameters that specify Full Duplex. This does not cause any problems, but may cause confusion when troubleshooting link problems if the user is expecting to see Full Duplex activity.
Problem conclusion
The following parameter values and parameters have been removed as allowable configuration options for snaadmin: define_sdlc_ls, opt1 value FULL_DUPLEX define_sdlc_port, opt1 value FULL_DUPLEX define_sdlc_port parameters pri_fdplx and sec_fdplx . The pri_fdplx and sec_dplx parameters are now reserved and should always be set to the default value of "NO" or 0. Because these options are no longer allowed, existing configuration files may need to be edited to change the string "FULL_DUPLEX" to "NONE" for the opt1 parameter in the define_sdlc_port and efine_sdlc_ls stanzas. These parameters and values will be removed from documentation at the next revision.
