Error description
The bufferpool flushing logic which fullfills the SOFTMAX criteria does not take into account "hot" pages (held up by applications) and therefore pages holding up the minbufflsn may be skipped and not flushed. This can lead to ADM1822W messages being reported in the db2diag.log, e.g. 2009-03-02-03.58.15.684263+060 E21868047A697 LEVEL: Warning PID : 2875 TID : 1 PROC : db2agent (SAMPLE) 0 INSTANCE: db2inst1 NODE : 000 DB : (SAMPLE APPHDL : 0-2040 APPID: 10.21.25.91.65042.090302023522 AUTHID : db2inst1 FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, data protection services, sqlpgResSpace, probe:1660 MESSAGE : ADM1822W The active log is being held by dirty pages. This is not an error, but database performance may be impacted. If possible, reduce the database work load. If this problem persists, either decrease the SOFTMAX and/or increase the NUM_IOCLEANERS DB configuration parameters.
