Error description
While recommending indexes, the DB2 Design Advisor (db2advis) may cause the DB2 instance to abend if a query with certain characteristics is present in the workload being evaluated. This can also occur if the same type of query is executed under the RECOMMEND INDEXES EXPLAIN mode. The abend can occur if the query being evaluated has the following characteristics: - An equi-join correlated join predicate - The correlated join predicate is on the same column from the same table OR each column in the correlated join predicate has the same position as the other column in the table to which it belongs - There exists a local equality predicate in the correlated subselect on the same column as that which is used in the correlated join predicate (this local predicate may be specified explicitly in the correlated subselect or may be generated by DB2 Query ReWrite via column equivalence)
Local fix
Aside from modifying the input workload to not have characteristics that could trigger this issue, no workaround exists. This issue will be fixed in DB2 Version 9.5 Fix Pack 3.
