Error description
With DEACTIVE GL VALIDATIONS? checkbox checked, then in the Inventory application, if user selects Issue Current Item and does not enter a work order, asset, location, or gldebitacct, Maximo will NOT give the following error: "BMXAA1878E - The charge details for a material issue/return have not been specified." The balance is decreased but the item is not recorded against any charge details as none have been specified Maximo 7.6.0.5: We have the following system variables defined: VARNAME VARVALUE DISABLEGLSWITCH 1 GLREQUIREDFORTRANS 0 In the Inventory application, if user selects Issue Current Item and does not enter a work order, asset, location, or gldebitacct, Maximo will save the transaction with no errors. Steps to replicate: First go to module Financial<Chart of Accounts applicaiton Under More Actions select Validation Options Ensure Deactivate GL Validations? is CHECKED (This is the key to reproducing the issue) and Require Valid GL Account for All Transactions? is UNchecked Go to Inventory application REcall record XMP-3500 More Actions<Issue Current Item In subsequent dialog box scroll down to DETAILS area Remove GL DEBIT Account Click OK RESULT: Although NO asset, location work order or GL is specified no error is thrown and the Balance for the item is decremented by the Qty specified in the dialog box I tested changing GLREQUIREDFORTRANS to true and it then requires something in the GL field or it will give a message: "BMXAA1185E - The debit or credit general ledger account is not specified." . Additional Comments - Turning off the GL validation should only stop the system from checking whether a GL account is valid or not (components are valid, string is valid etc.)....it shouldn't allow the user to issue the item to nothing. - Client needs to ensure that a user can't accidentally issue the item to nothing and believes that a message should be displayed as it does for the scenario where Deactivate GL Validations? is UNchecked - Validation should still take place to confirm that the item is being issued to a work order, asset, location or GL. Tested in 7508 and there is also NO error message thrown when the Deactivate GL Validations? is UNchecked, however, the Current Balance does NOT decrement when the OK is clicked in the Issue Current Item dialog box Tested in 7605 and confirmed NO error message is thrown and the Current Balance is decremented as per the report of the issue Tested in 7607 and confirmed NO error message is thrown and the Current Balance is again decremented
