APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: This problem can manifest itself in many
different ways.

Stack Trace: N/A

This problem can only occur if auto-SIMD is enabled on either
the z13 platform or POWER 7 or later platforms.

Local fix

  • -Xjit:disableAutoSIMD
Note that this may affect performance.

Problem summary

  • While trying to transform a loop so that it uses SIMD
instructions, the JIT compiler encountered an error condition
and left the loop only partially transformed.

Problem conclusion

  • The JIT compiler has been updated to eliminate possible error
conditions during the SIMD transformation phase. In addition, if
such error still occurs we enforce compilation failure so that
the error can be detected earlier.

   8    SR2       (8.0.2.0)
