  Java 7.1 may see a slight performance regression (1-2%) when
  running certain programs, particularly very large programs,
  compared to Java 7 due to optimization differences.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The performance regression is caused by various differences in
  optimization strategies, including reduced inlining for certain
  large programs and reduced optimization in certain blocks of
  code due to innaccurate profiling information.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT compiler has been fixed to address these issues.
