APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When try to add a new volume group to resource group by
SMIT, can't get all VGs in the list.
# smitty cm_change_show_rg_resources
  -> in Volume Groups or Concurrent Volume Groups
     -> <F4> or <Esc+4>: VGs are NOT seen at the menu.

The incorrect output shows:
"1800-051 There are no items of this type."

Local fix

  • The missing VGs can be added/written manually by the User
in the SMIT field.

Problem summary

  • While adding Volume group to RG using smit , it
gives error instead of Volume Group list

Problem conclusion

  • Changed the code to display VG list
