  When output of process.getInputstream() is read using
  BufferedReader.ready(), the buffer is empty even after the
  process exits.This happens when launching shortlived process
  using Runtime.exec.
  

Local fix

• Introduce a delay of about 50-100 ms before checking for
  readiness of stream data using BufferedReader.ready().
  

Problem summary

• The problem is due to delay in scheduling thread and
  initialization of stream for the process. This is a timing issue
  and the streams are not initialized before process exits.
  

Problem conclusion

• IBM JDK has been updated with a condition to ensure that the
  streams are initialized before process exits.
