Error description
A timeout error is seen when deleting a person group from within the Person Groups application if there is a large number of work orders in the WORKORDER table. In one example, you have over 30,000,000 work order records in their WORKORDER table. When you select a person group from within the Person Groups application and attempt to delete it, the operation fails and you find the following error in the log: BMXAA6714E - The data for the next record in the mboset could not be retrieved for the SQL query select * from workorder where (persongroup= 'ABC' or ownergroup='ABC' ) and historyflag=0. See the log file for more details about the error. java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation When running the same qery directly against the database the results take over eight minutes to return.
Local fix
Create an index on the WORKORDER table using the following steps: 1. Log in to Maximo and navigate to the Database Configuration application 2. Search for and select the WORKORDER object 3. Click the "indexes" tab. Then click on the "new row" button within the Indexes section. 4. Enter a name for the index, i.e. WOPERSONGRP 5. Next, click the "new row" button under the "columns" section, and add the following two columns: PERSONGROUP OWNERGROUP 6. Save the changes, then apply the configuration changes. You should now be able to delete a persongroup successfully.
