APAR status

Error description

  • When IP address of an interface is changed by ifconfig
    command, default gateway route entrie are also deleted
    unexpectely due to the change introduced by APAR IV26939.

    Because of this, external communications could be lost
    when
    IP address is changed in this way.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Default routes may be missing after changing the IP of an
    interface through 'ifconfig' command.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code modified to not delete the default route on changing the
    IP
