Environment : VIOS Users may see random duplicate ping responses to Ping requests sent by VIOS to one of its VIOC. The duplicate ping responses are seen on VIOS. The ping is DONE from VIOS to one of its VIOC.

Problem summary
Users may see random duplicate ping responses to ping requests sent by VIOS to one of its VIOC. The duplicate ping responses are seen on VIOS. ping is DONE from VIOS to one of its VIOC.
Problem conclusion
This problem requires a design change in SEA. It was found that the problem happened only on a particular type/make/vendor switch and did not recreate with other switches. Hence closing this APAR as Permanent Restriction.
