Error description
Environment: Problem reported on z/OS but applies to all supported platforms. Problem Description: Use of KDEB_INTERFACELIST with "!" (application-specific bind) causes http port sharing to break. When KDEB_INTERFACELIST=!* for example, the ITM Service index on port 1920 no longer contains all participating servicepoints from active Tivoli Monitoring processes on that system image. Tivoli Monitoring processes attempting to share port 1920 will fail with these messages: "KDEB_BaseConnect" ... KDE1_STC_CONNECTIONFAILURE=93: ECONNREFUSED "KDHS_ListenQueueManager" connect to ip.tcp.http:1920 owner failed Detailed Recreation Procedure: Start multiple Tivoli Monitoring processes on a single system with KDEB_INTERFACELIST=!* Related Files and Output: RAS1 logs of ITM processes is sufficient to determine problem.
Local fix
1. Specify unique soap port number 2. Recycle all addr spaces using port 1920 3. Use alternate soap port number This would be done using the HTTP and/or HTTPS protocol modifiers. For example, adding HTTP:2920 and HTTPS:4661 would mean that the TEMS internal web server would use those ports. The tacmd -s server would need to specify the needed port. The same thing would needed for other SOAP usages.
Problem summary
TEBS: KDEB_INTERFACELIST breaks HTTP port sharing. Use of KDEB_INTERFACELIST with "!" (application-specific bind) causes http port sharing to break. When KDEB_INTERFACELIST=!* for example, the ITM Service index on port 1920 no longer contains all participating servicepoints from active Tivoli Monitoring processes on that system image. RAS1 logs with KBS_DEBUG=Y show failed attempts to share port 1920 with these messages: "KDEB_BaseConnect" ... KDE1_STC_CONNECTIONFAILURE=93: ECONNREFUSED "KDHS_ListenQueueManager" connect to ip.tcp.http:1920 owner failed.
Problem conclusion
Code fixed to bind to network devices as configured in KDEB_INTERFACELIST. The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance packages: | fix pack | 6.2.2-TIV-ITM-FP0008 | fix pack | 6.2.3-TIV-ITM-FP0001
