Error description
JMS Activation Specifications and Listener Ports see delays in receiving messages even though messages are available on the queue. Messages are delayed and delivered in batches equal to the number of active sessions. The error occurs when 1) the messages received are non-persistent 2) READAHEAD functionality is enabled 3) the MDB is processing the messages outside of syncpoint
Local fix
Turn off READAHEAD functionality.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Users of WebSphere Application Server 7.0 using Listener Ports or Activation Specs in conjunction with with READAHEAD. Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: An asynchronous GET matching on MESSAGE TOKEN is incorrectly identified as a valid destination for a message with a different MESSAGE TOKEN causing the valid recipient to fail to be notified that the message is available. When the valid recipient is eventually notified of a message it receives all of the messages for which it is a valid recipient.
Problem conclusion
The logic responsible for notifying waiting GETs is modified to restrict those application which may be notified to only those which are valid recipients for the message. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.7 -------- -------------------- Windows U200333 AIX U843721 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U844089 HP-UX (Itanium) U844094 Solaris (SPARC) U844090 Solaris (x86-64) U844096 iSeries tbc_p700_0_1_7 Linux (x86) U844091 Linux (x86-64) U844095 Linux (zSeries) U844092 Linux (Power) U844093 v7.1 Platform Fix Pack 7.1.0.1 -------- -------------------- Windows 7.1.0.1 AIX 7.1.0.1 HP-UX (PA-RISC) 7.1.0.1 HP-UX (Itanium) 7.1.0.1 Solaris (SPARC) 7.1.0.1 Solaris (x86-64) 7.1.0.1 iSeries 7.1.0.1 Linux (x86) 7.1.0.1 Linux (x86-64) 7.1.0.1 Linux (zSeries) 7.1.0.1 Linux (Power) 7.1.0.1 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
