IV09471: SLOW PERFORMANCE, LOOPING, AND ERROR ON PM FORECAST CRON TASK

Error description

• Example Setup to Reproduce the Error Condition on Base Services
  7.1.1.7, Oracle 10.2 database:
  Go To System Configuration | Platform Configuration | Cron Task
  Setup
  In the Cron Task field enter "pmforecast" and press Enter
  Click on PMForecastCronTask
  In the Cron Task Instances section click on the New Row button
  In the Cron Task Instance Name field enter "120D"
  In the Schedule field click the Set Schedule button and click OK
  to the default, or change it to run momentarily
  Click the checkbox for Active
  In the Parameters section | forecastfordays field | enter 120
  In the Parameters section | whereclause field | enter: "Status =
  'ACTIVE' and NEXTDATE is not null AND nextdate between sysdate
  and sysdate + 120 and Assestnum in(select asset.assetnum from
  asset where status = 'OPERATING')"
  Save the record
  Select Action | Reload Request
  Click the checkbox for the 120D instance and click OK
  
  The Cron Task will run for 4 to 8 hours and will eventually
  terminate while displaying "database error number 17008 has
  occurred connection closed" error message.  The log indicates
  that that the PMs are being repeated or re-evaluated, and
  otherwise looping many times (over 100 iterations) once they are
  successfully forecasted.
  

Local fix

• The condition has been fixed in file
  applications\maximo\businessobjects\classes\psdi\skd\app\pm\PMFo
  recastCronTask.class
