IT46368: THE MQ SIDECAR PROCESS FOR NON NATIVE APPLICATIONS SOMETIMES FAILS ON PROCESS OPEN.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• MQ starts a sidecar process for each non native application
  interfacing with MQ (mqmtns library).
  MQ returns reason code 2195 (MQRC_UNEXPECTED_ERROR) for numerous
  reasons.
  For non-native MQ applications, one reason may be that the
  associated sidecar process has disappeared.
  Such a message from the MQ non native library mqmtns shows up in
  EMS:
   MQMTNS MQPUT handshake invalid reply grc 201 Guardian or User
  Defined Error 201 countread 0.
  

Local fix

• A reconnect (MQCONN) does not solve the problem.
  The application needs to be restarted.
  

Problem summary

• The sidecar process is not prepared to deal with multiple
  process opens. If another software product (monitoring, security
  ,etc.) opens and closes an MQ sidecar process, the MQ sidecar
  process will terminate when that other processcloses its
  connection to it.
  

Problem conclusion

• The sidecar accepts process open calls only from it's ancestor
  process, which is the MQ non native application (mqmtns).
  Other process open calls will be rejected.

  The fix is targeted for delivery in maintenance level 8.1.0.25
  of IBM MQ for HPE NonStop 8.1.
