IT45964: ARCHIVE FAILS WITH "DUPLICATESESSIONERROR" DUE TO HANGING ARCHIVE SESSION

Error description

• An archive job in IBM Spectrum Protect Plus can fail with the
  following message in the joblog after cancelling the previous
  archive job:

  This APAR applies when the status of the archive session in the
  vSnap Mongo DB is incorrect. This can be checked in the
  'mongo-session.json' file in the vSnap logbundle:

Local fix

• Restart the vSnap replication service to correct the vSnap
  archive session state:
  sudo systemctl restart vsnap-repl

Problem conclusion

• In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.12 and later, canceled archive
  sessions may appear pending or active on the vSnap that
  performed the archive task. In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus
  10.1.16.2 and 10.1.17, canceled archive sessions are properly
  terminated and their states are set to "FAILED."
  

Temporary fix

• Users can execute the following command on a vSnap with
  pending/active sessions, which will restart the vSnap
  replication service:
  
  sudo systemctl restart vsnap-repl
  
  Note: Restarting the replication service will cancel any
  replication, offload, or archive jobs that are currently
  running.
