APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Nodes upgrading from 10.5.0.x to 10.5.0.10+ must follow a
specific process; this APAR reflects the code change to simpify
the upgrade process.

Local fix

  • Currently the workaround solution is:

1.Take all APIC GW SVC nodes offline in the load balancer
2.Take node C API GW offline in the load balancer
3.Create new peering objects on node C
4.Upgrade firmware on node C to fixpack 10.5.0.10
5.Take node C APIC GW SVC online in the load balancer
6.Wait for synchronization with API Manager
7.DRR node C
8.Wait for configuration to load on node C
9.Take node B API GW offline in the load balancer
10.Create new peering objects on node B (so it peers with node
C and not node A)
11. Upgrade firmware on node B to fixpack 10.5.0.10
12. Take node B APIC GW SVC online in the load balancer
13. Wait for configuration to sync completely on node B
14. Take node B & C API GW online in the load balancer
15.Take node A API GW offline in the load balancer
 16. Create new peering objects on node A (so it peers with
node B & C)
17. Upgrade firmware on node A to fixpack 10.5.0.10
18. Take node A APIC GW SVC online in the load balancer
19. Wait for configuration to sync completely on node A
20. Take node A API GW online in the load balancer

Problem summary
