IT45872: REPLICATION FAILURE WITH CTGGA0309 COPY FAILED FOR SNAPSHOT

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Starting with IBM Spectrum Protect Plus version 10.1.1,
  replication of backup data between vSnaps was introduced.
  
  On rare occasions replication fails due to intermittent
  connection failures between the source and target replication
  servers.
  
  The following error is seen in the job log:
  
  ERROR,,CTGGA0309,Copy failed for snapshot (ID: 12345) from
  source [server: 1.2.3.4 volume: spp_123456
  snapshot: spp_123456] to target [server: 4.3.2.1 volume:
  spp_654321 ]. Error: CommandFailureError:

Problem conclusion

• In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.16.2 and 10.1.17, retries have
  been added to the address resolution logic in the vSnap during
  replication, ensuring that a single failed attempt to resolve
  the address of a partner vSnap does not result in a failed
  replication.
