APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The queue manager configured with linear logging fails to start
    due to failure in recovering a damaged queue that is not
    recoverable. The following FDCs were generated.

Local fix

  • The user can start the queue manager with the following
    workaround if the user is OK to continue
    with the damaged object and lose messages on the damaged queue.
    
    > Migrate the log from linear to circular
    > Start and stop the the queue manager
    > Migrate the log from circular to linear
    > Start the QM

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A defect in handing a failure when recovering damaged object
    resulted in queue manager startup failure.
    

Problem conclusion

  • MQ code has been modified to address queue manager startup
    failure originated from incorrect handling of damaged queue
    recovering.
