Error description

  • When an MQ client application connected to a channel which was
configured with send and receive channel exits the client
application intermittently reported a MQRC 2009 connection

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Those with applications that consume messages asynchronously
over SVRCONN channels which are defined with receive exits and
    SHARECNV(1).

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A client application executed an MQI operation from within a
callback function and the MQ server code attempted to invoke a
receive exit, but a programming error caused the queue manager
to incorrectly free a memory block which led to a SIGSEGV. This
caused the channel to terminate abnormally and the client
application received return code 2009 (MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN).

Problem conclusion

  • The programming error has been fixed.
