Problem conclusion

  • Before IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.16.1 and 10.1.17, the
NOTIFICATION collection in MongoDB that stores alerts was not
capped and, therefore, could grow indefinitely. If the
collection grew too large, sorting the collection to display the
alerts by newest first would result in an out-of-memory
condition. Since IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.16.1 and
10.1.17, the NOTIFICATION collection has been capped,
prohibiting the out-of-memory condition during sorting. This
ensures that an exception is not thrown when displaying all
alerts to the user on the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus user
    interface.
