Error description

• IBM Spectrum Protect Plus snapshots can unexpectedly be
  deleted by the maintenance job when the following two
  
  conditions are met:
  
  1. The corresponding vSnap snapshots were created for a job
  
  that was cancelled and that ended in PARTIAL status.
  
  2. After that job, the retention policy of the SLA was edited.
  
  
  When these conditions are met, all snapshots that were created
  for the cancelled job are removed by the maintenance job even
  
  if the retention is valid.

Problem conclusion

• IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Maintenance job previously deleted the
  snapshots of a cancelled backup job if some SLA retention
  changes are done after the cancelled backup job is completed.
  This problem happened due to a bug in the code level. In IBM
  Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.16 and later, this bug has been
  fixed.
